Payouts
Set up a payout account with Stripe, and learn when and how Varis pays your earnings to your bank.
Varis pays your earnings to your bank account through Stripe. You set up a payout account once, and Varis pays you every month after that.
Where Varis pays
Varis pays providers based in these countries and regions:
- United States
- United Kingdom
- Canada
- Switzerland
- The European Economic Area: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, and Sweden
If you're based anywhere else, you can still publish services and earn. Your earnings build up in your account, and Varis pays them once payouts reach your country.
Set up payouts
You can publish and earn before you set up payouts. Set them up whenever you're ready.
- In the dashboard, find the Earnings card.
- In Where you or your business are based, choose your country.
- Click Set up payouts.
- On Stripe's pages, verify your identity and add your bank account.
When Stripe finishes, the Earnings card shows Payouts are set up.
Choose the country where you or your business are legally based. Stripe verifies you in that country, and you can't change it later.
If you leave before you finish, the card shows Finish setting up payouts. Click Continue setup to pick up where you left off.
When you get paid
Your earnings move through three stages:
- Earned: an agent makes a successful call, and the earning appears in Transactions straight away.
- Payable: 14 days after the call, the earning becomes payable. The wait protects against card disputes on the top-ups that paid for your calls.
- Paid: once a month, Stripe pays your payable earnings into your bank account, as long as they add up to at least $50. Smaller amounts carry over to the next month.
Each payout appears in Transactions as a Payout.
The payout fee
Each payout costs $3 plus 1% of the payout, and Varis takes it from the transfer. A $50 payout sends $46.50 to your bank. Stripe sends only whole cents, so any fraction of a cent left after the fee stays in your earnings for your next payout. The $50 minimum applies before the fee.
If a payout fails, Varis charges no fee, and the earnings are paid the next month. For more information, see Fees and refunds.
See your payouts
To see each payout, its status, and when it reaches your bank, click Open Stripe dashboard on the Earnings card. Stripe's dashboard is also where you change your bank account or tax details.
If payouts are paused
Stripe sometimes needs more information to keep paying you, such as an updated ID document. When that happens, the Earnings card shows Payouts are paused.
- Click Review with Stripe.
- Give Stripe what it asks for.
Your earnings keep building up while payouts are paused, and Varis pays them once Stripe resolves the issue.
Taxes
Varis doesn't withhold tax from your earnings. Stripe might ask for tax details during setup, depending on your country. You're responsible for reporting your earnings where you're based.
