Uninstall

Remove the Varis CLI from your machine with varis dracarys.

Leaving already? We'll miss you. But if Varis has to go, it goes out flaming: no configs left behind and no orphaned credentials.

Burn it down

From the project you want to clean up, run:

varis dracarys

Yes, that's the command. The CLI lists what it's about to do and asks you to type dracarys to confirm. Then it does the following:

  1. Signs this machine out of Varis and revokes its sign-in.
  2. Removes this project's varis.json, and the Varis section that varis init added to AGENTS.md.
  3. Deletes the CLI's config folder.
  4. Uninstalls the CLI the same way you installed it: Homebrew, Scoop, or the install script. It removes the Homebrew tap or Scoop bucket too.

On Windows, because you can't uninstall a running program, dracarys injects a script that removes Varis from disc a few seconds after the command exits.

What survives the fire

  • Your Varis account. It's still there when you come back.
  • Your published services. They stay live, and agents keep calling them. Disable them in the dashboard if you want them gone too.
  • Your earnings. They keep building up and paying out.
  • Other projects. varis dracarys only cleans the folder you run it in. Every other project keeps its varis.json.

Skip the confirmation

If you're certain, and you'd rather not type the word:

varis dracarys --goddamnit

We didn't name it. Fine, we did.

Uninstall by hand

If you installed the CLI in a custom folder or downloaded it by hand, varis dracarys can't uninstall the program itself. Run varis logout first, and then delete the varis binary and its config folder:

  • macOS and Linux: ~/.config/varis
  • Windows: %APPDATA%\varis

Changed your mind?

Install the CLI again. Your account and your services are right where you left them.
